Glass reinforced concrete, or GRC, is a cement mix strengthened with fine alkali-resistant glass fibres in place of steel mesh. Because the fibres carry the structural load throughout the piece, it can be cast thinner and lighter than conventional concrete while resisting the hairline cracking that solid slabs are prone to. What you get is outdoor furniture with the density and texture of stone at a fraction of the weight of a cast concrete equivalent.
The range covers benches, round dining and pedestal tables, a bar table, coffee tables and nested planter sets in trough, fluted, square and round forms, each cast in Weathered Cement or Olive Green. Surfaces are hand finished, so variation in tone and texture between pieces is part of the material rather than a fault. Left outdoors, GRC weathers gradually and holds its shape through sun and rain year after year.
